An Atlanta firefighter who rushed into a burning house to try and save the life of an elderly woman has been suspended without pay. Capt. Daniel Dwyer of the Atlanta Fire Department didn’t hesitate when he ran into Sallie Skrine’s home as it went up in flames in June, NBC affiliateWXIAreported. On Thursday, Michael Drejka, who wasfound guilty in Augustof shooting and killing 28-year-old Markeis McGlockton in July of last year, learned his fate: two decades behind bars. The maximum sentence was 30 years.
