J.W. Rinzler , the man who brought us The Making of The Empire Strikes Back , has put together a new rule book , Star warfare : The Blueprints , coming this fall from Epic Ink Publishing . And yes , it ’s just what it sound like : all of the blueprints for the sets and property like R2D2 . There are blueprints for the Death Star as well as for a TIE fighter ( above ) . And a look at the planning for the Battle of Hoth .

The unsung heroes of the artwork department are the draftsmen , who drew in coaction with their art department heads , but who also added their own ideas . Their blueprint have an attribute that concept art lack - a sense of the real number .

This fall , Epic Ink – a young publisher of high - end collectible , special edition books – bursts onto the publication prospect with STAR WARS : THE BLUEPRINTS by J. W. STAR WARS blueprint have long been sought after , both by fans and within the narrative .
