George R.R. Martin Is Still Planning to Diverge FromGame of ThronesShow WithWinds of Winter

As theGame of Thrones video universe expandswith the upcoming prequel showHouse of the Dragon , George R.R. Martin , creator and author of the A Song of Ice and Fire Koran series , has provided a sort - of update on his long - wait Winds of Winter .

On his site , the writer confirmedthat his upcoming Word of God will indeed differentiate in many ways from the HBO series based on his Song of Ice and Fire as hisepic conclusionis still being hammered out . “ Another question that I get a pile , specially since the goal of plot OF THRONES on HBO , is whether A SONG OF ICE & FIRE , will end the same way . An designer would be able to give a poor , concise , elementary answer to that , but I am much more of a gardener . My news report arise and evolve and change as I write them . I broadly speaking love where I am going , sure as shooting … the final destinations , the braggart set pieces , they have been my straits for years … for decennary , in the case of A birdcall OF ICE & FIRE . There are draw of devils in the point , though , and sometimes the primer coat changes under my feet as the word pour forth , ” he wrote .

“ Most of you get laid by now that I do not like to give elaborate updates on WINDS . I am working on it , I have been cultivate on it , I will proceed to work out on it , ” he say of his progress , and link up a video recording where he talked about what form of writer he is . No doubt to address the concerns with the HBO serial going off the rail — perchance due to the lack of route map when the show captivate up to the Word of God — he total : “ What I have note more and more of former , however , is my gardening is taking me further and further away from the television series . Yes , some of the things you construe on HBO in GAME OF THRONES you will also see in THE air current OF WINTER ( though maybe not in quite the same fashion ) … but much of the rest period will be quite different . Becoming quite a physique in the public eye has no doubt tot up some expectation for Martin , who has always been transparent that writing takes him awhile and that he plans on including more than what was see on the show . “ I have viewpoint characters in the books never seen on the show : Victarion Greyjoy , Arianne Martell , Areo Hotah , Jon Connington , Aeron Damphair , ” he enounce . “ They will all have chapter , and the thing they do and say will impact the story and the major theatrical role who were on the show . And … well , the leaning is farseeing . ( And all this is part of why WINDS is taking so long . This is hard , guy ) . ” He concluded by noting , “ … not all of the characters who survived until the end of GAME OF THRONES will go until the close of A birdcall OF ICE & FIRE , and not all of the graphic symbol who died on GAME OF THRONES will give out in A SONG OF ICE & FIRE . ( Some will , certain . Of course . Maybe most . But by all odds not all ) ( Of course , I could change my judgement again next calendar week … ) ”

That ’s not incisively an update , but it does sound encouraging at least . We search forward to the end of A Song of Ice and Fire when it ’s publish finally !
