Candace Cameron Bureis toasting her son Lev Bure following his “fantastic” wedding last month.

At Friday’s Movieguide Award Gala in Los Angeles,the mother of threerevealed which memories of Lev’s recent nuptials are most special to her.

“Oh goodness, the whole thing was amazing,” Candace, 47, tells PEOPLE. “I’m mother of the groom, so it was like a highlight of my entire life. It was fantastic, but I would just say the actual ceremony was so beautiful.”

As for the connection between 23-year-old Lev and his now-wifeElliott Dunham: “They’re so in love,” she says, adding that her son’s relationship with his wife, “makes my mama heart swell.”

She then went on to describe what it was like to see her son get married. “Words cannot express the joy we have felt this weekend celebrating the marriage of our son and his bride Elliott. We gained a beautiful daughter and a wonderful family to do life with,” Candace wrote in the caption of her Instagram post. “My heart is so full ♥️♥️♥️.”

“We talked, we ate, speeches were given, toasts were made, we laughed, we danced, we celebrated 🥂! What a glorious day!!!! This mama is over the moon HAPPY!!!!” she added.

Photos from the ceremony show Candace in a gold strapless dress as she escorted her son, wearing a classic tux, down the aisle. Other members of the Bure family were accounted for in the photos, too, as the actress also shares daughterNatasha, 25, and son Maksim, 22, with husbandValeri Bure.

Candace previously revealed her son’s engagement toUs Weeklyin November 2023, explaining that she was “gaining a daughter very soon” and “very excited” for their ceremony.

She jokingly added of her involvement in the wedding planning, “Am I a [mother of the] groomzilla? No, I’m not. I promise you I’m not. I feel like it probably is different to be the mother of a groom than the mother of the bride.”

Ultimately, Candace said she was “just being available and supportive” of the duo ahead of their big day.

The actress previously opened up about life with an “empty nest” in 2020, as she described onGood Morning Americawhat it was like to not “have any kids at home anymore.”

“It went so fast,” she said. “Everyone says that, but when you’re in the position you realize how fast it goes.”

In anInstagram videothat she shared at the time, Candace read a children’s book to her dog Boris, who she joked was “the only one I have left at home.” “He is my big, 130-lb. Rottweiler. He is ginormous,” she shared. “His head is twice the size of mine.”
