The Archie ofArchie Comicsgets around . He ’s met bothKissand the Ramones . He ’s palled around withBatman . He ’s teamed up with the Punisher , and even beenchased by the Predator . But none of these comics crossovers — not a single one — guard a candle to Archie ’s next cartoon strip crosswalk , in which the felicitous , zippy stars of Archie Comics meet the dark , excruciate , and incredibly disturbed stars ofRiverdale . Which is to say , themselves .
The cover of the upcoming one - snapshot comical read “ The squad - Up You Thought Would Never Happen ! ” and that ’s true . It never even occurred to me that the publishing house might geminate the cockamamy hijinks of the comic with the frequently murderous shenanigans of Riverdale . In the comedian , Archie ’s biggest problem is usually his never - end erotic love triangle with Betty and Veronica . The most late bother TV ’s Archie has faced include : 1 ) have got his house ball up up by Veronica ’s vengeful father Hiram ( and possibly him and Betty as well ) ; 2 ) having beenritually sacrificedby the entire town , including his booster and syndicate , in a parallel universe ; 3 ) suffer crippling PSTD from his sentence as a soldier during some wholly unidentified war that was fought in trench as per World War 1 . Like I said , this is wild .

How is the multi - Archie - verse colliding ? Well , it appears like nerd / genius Dilton Doiley may have mess up with the time - space continuum and convey him into the comic strip world . Please note that the TV Dilton was ritually sacrificed by the Gargoyle King in what was very much not a parallel Riverdale universe .
Assuming Dilton is the culprit , it appears that the Archie who looks like Kiwi heartthrob K.J. Apa has no job enamor both Betty and Veronica at the same time . Despite OG Archie ’s fuming , this is immensely intelligible .
Given that Jughead and Betty have no human relationship in the comic ( and because he ’s canonically asexual ) , it must be equally terrific for Riverdale Betty and comedian Jughead to find themselves about to smooch .

fortunately , Sabrina the Teenage Witch is here to deliver the daylight ! Or perhaps she ’s the problem ! I do n’t make out ! All I require to have sex is what happens when the melodramatic author , gang drawing card , X - swain of Betty , and demode - drug addict Jughead meets the Jughead whose only involvement for the last 83 years has been eating hamburgers .
Archie encounter Riverdale # 1 on May 11 . Written by Loki and Lockjaw ’s Daniel Kibblesmith , it will be drawn by longtime Archie Comics veterans Pat & Tim Kennedy .
