For the first time , Apple documentation technicians have head at a manufacturing return as the origin of the white-livered lot and spots thatpeople are finding in their iPhone 4 ’s displays . There ’s no prescribed word from Apple yet , however .

I too have the yellow discoloration on the bottom of my new iphone 4 screen door .
I called Apple and they guy told me that it is residue from the manufacturing summons and that they rush the load out to hit deadline . He also told me that its just because the residual is not juiceless full yet and it should clear up within a mates of days .

Presumably , this “ residue from the manufacturing outgrowth ” is the adhesive material used to bind the glass with the sieve , as pointed in our ongoing insurance coverage .
We are still receiving contradicting reports , however : At least three readers have said that Apple support has guide them to ask for a replacement or else of waiting for the lily-livered spots to disappear . Two reader have told us about this after Pat talked with Apple reenforcement . Naldien , a Gizmodo proofreader who got his iPhone 4 at the University Village entrepot in Seattle , say that Apple Store employee there were aware of the problem :
“ So , did you see about the sieve yellow at all ? ” and an employee sound out “ Yeah , if that happens to you just bring it back in and we ’ll swap it . We have tons of replacement earpiece in - stock . ”
Naldien discover that his phone also hadthe sensationalistic tint problemin his car , after leaving the Apple Store .
There is still no parole aboutthe other display problemthat seems to affect a handful of users : White spots arbitrarily distributed over the screen , resemble a configuration of star .
